Everyday is Thanksgiving in the boundless land of Hip-Hop. Everyday, I am thankful to the human beings who dish out their gift of rhyme and teach our society that even though our actions may not always be perfect, you are accepted through your lack of understanding at the time. I am thankful for the musicians who speak open and honestly about their flaws so that other human beings can see their own through their expression and acknowledge that they possess the inner design that is strong enough to change. I am thankful to the Hip-Hop musicians that are proud of nothing and thankful for everything. I am thankful for the musicians who have slapped me in the face verbally and psychologically, for they have led me down the high road through learning to respond peacefully. I am thankful for the Hip-Hop musicians that teach me that my greatness is not measured on how others treat me, it’s measured through how I am able to consistently showcase the real me. I am thankful for all of the Hip-Hop musicians that have guided me through pain to greater purity and have taught me to rid of internal worries. I am thankful for all of the differences and challenges that face every single musician, because as they candidly face their own, their listeners cling to remnants of their emotive expressions and grow. I am thankful to the Hip-hop musicians that express themselves truthfully while being clear of judgement. Hip-Hop, I am thankful for you each and every day. Here’s 10 tracks that standout amongst the masses and teach human beings to be accountable for their actions and be grateful beyond for life beyond what you learn in classes.
