Nineteen years ago, two musicians from Los Angeles joined together and made an album that has quietly outlived everything around it. Nineteen years is an incredibly long time for an album to be around for but it’s nearly unheard of for a musical partnership to last that long too. Below the Heavens, the debut studio album by the legendary hip hop group Blu & Exile will turn 19 years old this week. The album anniversary will happen when the clock strikes midnight on Blu & Exile’s July 16th live show at the venue Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn. Released on July 17, 2007, Below the Heavens has been called one of the 30 Best Underground Hip Hop Albums Since 2000 by HipHopDX and is highly considered a classic album by many hip hop purists. This hip hop duo formed in 2007 and have quietly been releasing critically acclaimed classic albums for years.
Their most recent album, Time Heals Everything, released on 4/20 of this year, features the legendary emcee Black Thought. Their Time Heals Everything Tour will allow fans to see them at their best in a well known intimate Brooklyn venue.
Baby’s All Right is located in Williamsburg at 146 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY 11211. The show starts at 9:30 P.M. Tickets are available for $26.27 on DICE.fm.
